Rebecca has been involved with both the "town" and the "gown" aspects of New Haven since she arrived as a Yale undergraduate in 1981, and stayed on after graduating in 1985. A long-term corporate consultant, she now enjoys mobilizing her deep knowledge of the city to advise both investors seeking long-term wealth creation, and individuals and families buying a home in one of New Haven's many fine neighborhoods.
Rebecca began her real estate career in 1998, as an investor. Returning to the US after 12 years in China, Rebecca chose New Haven to return to, and bought a multi-family home so she could live in one unit and earn rental income from the others. From that beginning, Rebecca has expanded to owning and managing a portfolio of properties in East Rock, Westville, and elsewhere together with her husband, gradually shifting her business focus to concentrate on real estate. Today Rebecca enjoys helping other investors get started, and expand their holdings. Fluent in Chinese and able to speak some Spanish and French, Rebecca welcomes opportunities to advise members of the international community at Yale and throughout the city, as well as local buyers.
A long-term advocate for education and the environment, Rebecca has been involved with New Haven's Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees, and with the New Haven Public Schools, since she began volunteering as a reading tutor and for park clean-ups in 1982. She enjoys helping buyers find great homes in New Haven's many walk-able neighborhoods. With a daughter who spent years New Haven schools, Rebecca has actively served with the City of New Haven's School Reform Initiative, on School Planning and Management Teams, and on PTOs. She still volunteers with Friends of Edgewood School and Friends of Edgewood Park.
Rebecca's hobbies include reading, biking, hiking, horse-back riding, skiing, and travel, all of which she enjoys doing with her family.
